The Latest from The Timber Walk on Instagram:

I figured out who raided (and damaged) the bird feeder at The Timber Walk. The culprits? A couple of very well fed raccoons. The floor framing for Birchwood Cottage at The Timber Walk is coming together! Michael and I put in a very full and productive day yesterday, enjoying the spring warmth and sunshine. The beams are complete, which finished the sub-frame of Birchwood Cottage. Ready for floor joists! The moment the wood pile at The Timber Walk blew over in a storm. ⛈️ 🪵 It’s time to start building carrying beams and the floor structure of Birchwood Cottage at The Timber Walk. In addition to the fun stuff like building walls and creating trails, a project like The Timber Walk also requires lots of paperwork. This week I’ve been working on plans and permit approvals to connect everything in to the septic system. A batch of personal letters went out in the mail this morning to the closest neighbours of The Timber Walk, to make an introduction and to invite them to reach out with any questions or concerns, or to arrange a tour of the project. The sub-frame of Birchwood Cottage is complete and ready to receive carrying beams! Well, I’ve finally had a chance to set the posts in place for Birchwood Cottage. Of course they all need to be plumbed and there’s lots of bracing to do, but it’s nice to see some progress. With freezing rain on its way, that’ll be it for at least a couple days.
